Stairways to Hunter

Why stairs?  I thought it would be interesting to photograph because of the architecture involved.  The only real connection between the photos is that they are the Stairways to Hunter.  However, my main concept of taking photos of the different stairways on campus was to be creative with the camera. Also to use it in a way I wouldn't normally.  Taking shots in different angles, trying to capture perspective and depth of field.  I edited them by changing the lighting and color to give it a more implicit meaning.

Artist Statement

As of now, I do not have a project or specific piece I can write about.  What I can tell you is that I love music. Why I love it so much is because of how it makes me feel.  How to describe feeling?  The emotion I get out of music is like a crush, when you get the butterflies for someone.  Well I get that feeling from music.  When I hear a song for the first time and love it instantly, butterflies.  Listening to music that brings back memories from my past, butterflies.  That favorite band that I listen to over and over again, knowing every album, every song and every lyric they have ever produced, butterflies. 

The beginning of my dedication to music starts with my parents.  The ones who kept music throughout the house whether it was from the piano, the drums, or those sixties and seventies bands being played on the stereo that I thought I loathed but turn out I love.  Also, my friendships in high school added to my musical interests and widened my musical spectrum.

What I would like to do with music, I cannot say because I don’t know.  There are ideas, like working for a record label or major music venues.  In the end, I only know that these professions are out there. What there title may be, I hope to find out as I begin to study and explore the media and music world.
